Lowes Pond Dam is located in Oxford, Massachusetts and impounds Lowes Brook, which is a tributary to the French River. The dam was believed to be constructed around 1900 during a period of industrial development around Lowes Pond. The structure is described below in an excerpt from a 2014 report prepared for the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation’s (DCR) Office of Dam Safety (ODS).
