August 1, 2025 Construction Update

TFord has completed concrete work on the river-left (east) side of the dam. During the past week, divers placed stone on the pond bottom in the area where the Portadam cofferdam will be installed, in order to raise the pond bathymetry in this area and thereby provide a safe height for the top of the Portadam above the upstream water level. In addition, a crane was on-site to install supersack sandbags along the eastern side of the cofferdam in the pond. Portadam installation will occur the week of August 4 – 8.  After the Portadam installation is complete, pumping will begin to divert water from the upstream side of the cofferdam around the work area; pumped water will be discharged to the stream channel downstream of the construction work area and upstream of Huguenot Road.
